hiya
Hiya! I'm new here, big time blackmore's night fan. This seems a quite place. I hope we can change that.
I love village lantern. Fairy queen is one of my favorites and that made me to draw this:

Hello from Russia :)
I've got some questions about translation and understanding of BN's songs.
Here: http://www.russianblackmoresnight.tk/ ,in Unofficial Russian fanclub, we have translations of BN's lyrics. I don't agree with some of them, so I'd like to ask english-spoken fans to clear some moments :))

12. Old Mill Inn

Down at the Olde Mill Inn
We'll laugh and dance and sing
We'll drink all day and Bill will pay
Down at the Olde Mill Inn

Down at the Olde Mill Inn
The ships are sailing in,
We'll drink a toast to Judy our host
Down at the Olde Mill Inn

The moon is full, the bar is too, when we come to town
We'll have a beer, cause Jerrys here,
so spread the cheer around…

Down at the Olde Mill Inn
The bartenders name is Kim
And with a smile shell serve in style
Down at the Olde Mill Inn

The moon is full, the bar is too, when we come to town
We'll have a beer, cause Jerrys here,
so spread the cheer around…

Down at the Olde Mill Inn
We'll laugh and dance and sing
We'll drink all day and Bill will pay
Down at the Olde Mill Inn

Down at the Olde Mill Inn
We'll laugh and dance and sing
We'll drink and play the hours away…
Down at the Olde Mill Inn…

Primo:
>We'll drink a toast to Judy our host

Is Judy male or female here? I know, female form of "host" is hostess, but... I used to think, that Judy is short form of Judith, and so one... :))) Certainly, I can't deny that Judy CAN be a male name.

Secundo:
>We'll have a beer, cause Jerrys here
Would it be correct to understand this so: Jerry made bear here, at the Inn, so let's drink it? :)
>so spread the cheer around…
Does it mean that everyone err... striking\knoking glasses after saying toast? :))) I'm sorry fo this odd sentence, but I just don't know, how to explain correctly! :)) In russian there is a word "чокаться" (chokat'sya), which mean that people are shifting with ringing (:)) their glasses with each other after saing toast and before drinking. ))

>Down at the Olde Mill Inn
>The bartenders name is Kim
>And with a smile shell serve in style
>Down at the Olde Mill Inn

Maybe, here, at the 3'd line, there is "she'll", and not "shell"?...

Somebody heard Once In A Garden?
>Once on a hilltop, beneath the old tree
>Swings made of tires made us feel so free
>The butterflies kissed our hair
>Once in a hilltop, I still see us right there…

I guess, at the 2'nd line there is "wings", not "swings"!
But as for "tires"... I just don't unerstand...

And the last, for now:
(25 years)
>Tried to run but my feet were frozen
>Tried to scream but there was no sound
>In my head voices echoing
>Girl you should know better by now

The last 2 lines... Is it corect to understand so: voices were saing "girl, now you've learn a lot of things and can understand more"?

I'm sorry for my odd english once more, and hope you'll help me. :))

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT: CASTLES & DREAMS Program Information:

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT: CASTLES & DREAMS
Exclusive premiere on Monday, January 30 at 8 pm on WLIW21 New York Public Television
Airs nationwide on public television March, 2006

Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore and life partner Candice Night lead an eight-piece ensemble that blends soft rock music and European folk melodies, played on Renaissance-era and modern day instruments to create 'Renaissance Rock.' Dubbed Blackmore's Night, the ensemble filmed this concert at a medieval castle in Germany last year to capture a unique experience inspired by nature, and the pageantry and romance of the Middle Ages' music. Long velvet skirts rustle through castle courtyards while peasants, knights, jesters and kings saunter down cobblestone streets as Blackmore's Night casts its spell of mystical music using acoustic and electric guitars, strings, eclectic instruments like hurdy-gurdy and bagpipe, and Candice Night's ethereal voice. Songs include: "Home Again," "Renaissance Faire" and "The Clock Ticks On." Long Island native Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore will be live in the studio. Presented nationally by WLIW New York. 90 minutes. ST and CC. For more information, visit: www.wliw.org
